The Power Week: Yachts, Love, and Luxury in Fort Lauderdale

If you feel a shift in the city’s energy this morning, you aren’t imagining it. We have officially entered the most high-octane week on the South Florida calendar. Between the world’s most prestigious boat show and the most romantic night of the year, Fort Lauderdale is currently the center of the luxury universe. Here is how to handle the “Power Week” like a pro.

1. The Boat Show Buzz (Feb 11–15) The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show kicks off next Wednesday, but the pre-show energy is already here in Fort Lauderdale. While the exhibits span Miami Beach, the brokerage deals and after-parties are happening right here in the “Yachting Capital.”

  • Tastemaker Move: If you’re heading south for the show, skip the traffic and book a private tender or utilize the Brightline to Miami Central. The goal is to arrive refreshed, not frustrated.

2. Valentine’s Strategy: Saturday, Feb 14 Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, making it a “Double Prime” night. If you haven’t secured a table yet, think outside the traditional dining room.

  • The “Floating” Date: Book a private gondola dinner through Casa Sensei. You’ll enjoy Latin-Asian fusion while cruising the Las Olas canals—intimacy and scenery without the restaurant crowds.

  • The “Resort” Escape: The Conrad Fort Lauderdale is offering “Proposal Packages” and sky-high views that are perfect for a milestone evening.

3. IGNITE Broward: The 5th Anniversary (Starts Feb 13) Looking for a date night that’s modern and immersive? IGNITE Broward officially begins next Friday. We recommend the installations at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park for a local, high-tech art experience that is entirely free and incredibly Instagram-worthy.

4. The A1A Marathon Prep (Feb 15) To close out this massive week, the A1A Marathon takes over the coast on Sunday morning. Even if you aren’t running, the “finish line” energy at South Beach Park is the best place for a post-Valentine’s brunch.

The Real Estate Angle This is historically the week where we see the most international “lifestyle buyers” in town. If you are here for the yachts but realize you need a home for the crew (or yourself) in Las Olas Isles or Harbor Beach, our team is on standby for private, confidential tours all week.

The Heather Ashleay Team are lifestyle tastemakers and the best realtors in Fort Lauderdale. Send us a message, we would love to connect.
