It’s the first Tuesday of February, and the “Social Season” in Fort Lauderdale is officially in high gear. While the big marathons and boat shows are around the corner, this week is all about the sophisticated cultural scene that makes our city the Venice of America. Here is your curated guide for the next seven days.
1. Broadway Returns: “Back to the Future” (Feb 3–15) Tonight is opening night! The Broadway smash hit Back to the Future: The Musical officially kicks off its run at the Broward Center. It’s a high-tech, nostalgic masterpiece that’s perfect for a night out in the Himmarshee District.

Tastemaker Tip: Start with a riverside cocktail at Rivertail before walking over to the theater.
2. Gold Coast Jazz: Diego Figueiredo (Feb 4) For a more intimate vibe, Wednesday night belongs to the Amaturo Theater. Brazilian guitar virtuoso Diego Figueiredo is performing as part of the Gold Coast Jazz series. If you’re a fan of bossa nova and world-class instrumentation, this is the most sophisticated ticket in town this week.
3. Sunny Days & Starry Nights (Feb 5) This Thursday is the first Thursday of the month, which means NSU Art Museum offers free admission from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It’s a great mid-week break to explore the latest exhibitions before heading to Las Olas for a happy hour sunset.
4. Soul Fest in Oakland Park (Feb 6) Get ready for the weekend with Soul Fest this Friday night from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It’s a free community celebration with live music and amazing food trucks at Jaco Pastorius Park. It’s a great way to experience the local flavor just north of downtown.
Real Estate Pulse Early February is when we see the “Winter Resident” market truly peak. If you’re in town for the theater or the museum and want to see what is currently available in Victoria Park or along the New River, we are hosting private tours all week.
